The MetaMosque app is a ground-breaking mobile application that leverages artificial intelligence to enable virtual mosque visits from around the world. This contributes a new form of accessibility to Friday prayers and is conducive to fostering a sense of global community.
Developed by Palestinian-American art advisor and model Samera Abed, the MetaMosque app was inspired by Abed's desire to address her own mother's inability to attend Friday prayers due to physical limitations. MetaMosque's primary goal is to extend the opportunity to experience renowned mosques such as Al Haram and Al Aqsa.
MetaMosque stands out for its dual approach to inclusivity, making historical mosques more accessible through virtual experiences and offering compatibility with a range of digital platforms like IOS, Android, PC, and Meta Quest.
