SpikerBot, currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter, is a first-of-its-kind, no-coding-needed robot that follows a neural circuit. Rather than writing commands, users build a nervous system with a drag-and-drop neural designer, teaching SpikerBot to move, react, speak and navigate the world based on the brain they build in the app.
This playful robot has the potential to be wired to behave like a dog—barking, rolling forward, advancing or wagging—or even chase a colorful ball of yarn like a cat, when wired to track and chase objects of a designated color. Unlike some robots that go through the motions as if following a script, SpikerBot distinctly feels alive, and does so with pre-built neural circuits that make experimentation feel fun.
