North Shore Animal League America has launched its 26th annual Tour For Life initiative, a coast‑to‑coast mobile pet adoption event that will travel to 66 cities across 36 states from April 10 through the end of May 2026. For this program, the organization is partnering with local shelters and rescue groups to facilitate adoptions and raise awareness about homeless animals.
The Tour For Life initiative seeks to reduce common barriers to adoption, such as a lack of transportation, limited local shelter hours, or simply not knowing where to start. North Shore Animal League America achieves this by creating a festive, welcoming atmosphere where people can interact with cats, dogs, and other animals in a low‑pressure setting. Knowledgeable staff and volunteers at the mobile pet adoption event can answer questions and guide potential adopters. The initiative also emphasizes adopting older animals and those with special needs.
